Professional golf is in a world of its own when it comes to freedom of expression of an athlete. From the famous Red Tiger on a Sunday, John Daly’s pants, Rickie Fowler in Oklahoma orange and Ian Poulter wearing the Union Jack, there has been no shortage of iconic outfits on the tour. While you don’t see the knickerbockers anymore (and in some cases they are no longer accepted on golf courses!) golf fashion is on a wide spectrum ranging from traditional and classy (Ben Hogan) the utter outrageous (John Daly) to the new generation of modern golf fashion welcomed by the self-proclaimed non-traditionalist PGA “Bro” Brooks Koepka.
Modern golf fashion is clean, tonal, and focused around the practicality of the outfit, from extra stretch in the pants to the breathability and lighter fabrics for the tops. Golf still embraces the weird and wonderful but it is time to acknowledge…..golf fashion is cool.
Enter Clutch & Co, with the motto of looking as good on the course as you do in the clubhouse. Clutch & Co HQ is excited for what the future holds. After a few early misfires off the tee, we have begun to find our place in the golfing apparel universe. Our current and future range will always have a focus on versatility and performance, meaning the items will present multi-purpose functions to the customers. This is headlined by our core item the ¼ Zip Performance Top that has been worn on golf courses across the globe, it has completed marathons and is often sighted on a Wednesday steak night in the inner-city streets of Melbourne.
We want to honour the traditional aspects of golf apparel but also embrace the new era of golf fashion that is transitioning the game into a new space. The days of getting told off for wearing black socks on the golf course are becoming less frequent as golf courses begin to adapt to these trends. Our newly released Jogger Pant is perfect for a late-night hit at the range or Xrange Simulator and on many of Australia’s courses available to the public. Australia is a unique place where golf is accessible and affordable, and is not just played in exclusive country clubs and we want Clutch & Co to be a brand that represents the Australian golf culture. We are also looking towards the future as we plan on growing our brand and developing products that make us a great option for all golf lovers in Australia.
Unlike the owners of the European football powerhouses when they decided to form their own Super League, we are a brand that listens to its fan base and customers. Our designs are based off direct feedback from our customers as we learn how to best cater to our expanding cliental. It is a very exciting time at Clutch & Co HQ and keep an eye out for announcements on new product that we will be releasing in the back half of 2021!
